Family.
People to love.
People who love you.
People to catch you when you fall,
Guide you when lost,
Believe in you.
& sometimes, especially right now in the cold winter months….
People who are ALWAYS in YOUR SPACE.
Are you feeling cooped up?
Like you are never going to get a break?
“Mom, I’m BOOOOOORED.”
“Its, TOO COOOOOLLLD to go outside.”
Let’s stay calm & look at this in a new perspective….
A time to BOND.
Family nights are times your kids will look back on and remember fondly.
Picking activities that encourage your family to interact with one another will help everyone look forward to participating.
So here’s some ideas for you the next time you are at a loss of what to do when it’s dark and chilly, yet again.
Camping. Yes, in your house. Pitch a tent in your living room (if you have the space) or just grab some sleeping bags, lanterns and tell scary stories. Make hot chocolate in the crockpot and don’t forget the marshmallows!
Get that puzzle out of the back of the game closet – aim for a cool image that everyone will want to work on together. Set aside a separate table where you can keep working on it until the final piece is put into place!
Build with food – get your marshmallows out again and grab some pretzel sticks, fruit gummies & snacks. Challenge each other to build a house, a bridge, etc. and then after you are done admiring each other’s creations, it’s time to eat!
Host show and tell – ask each family member to choose an item from their room that is important to them. Encourage your kids to get creative when sharing it by singing a song or making up a dance.
Did you see something on this list that inspires you to bond with your loved ones?
Do you have another activity that you love to do with your family?
If you don’t make some 😊
